Volleyball and softball teams off for long weekend

The local volleyball and softball teams have the long weekend off. They will return to action by next Wednesday with some intriguing matches lined up.

On Wednesday, Sept. 4, Northgate's softball team will travel to Woodward Acadmey for a 4:30 game, while Fayette County will play at Mundy's Mill at 5 p.m. and McIntosh will host Starr's Mill at 6 p.m. Our Lady of Mercy travels to Kennesaw Mountain on Thursday for a 6:30 p.m. game.

Sandy Creek's volleyball team will host Starr's Mill and Salem on Thursday at 5 p.m., while Our Lady of Mercy will host McIntosh and Northgate at the same time. East Coweta will travel to Morrow High School for a 5 p.m. game on Thursday, while Fayette County will play in the Troup County tournament next weekend. Cross country kicks off next Saturday at the Berry Invitational.
