SouthSide Pioneers send athletes to AAU Nationals
The SouthSide Pioneers sent several athletes to the AAU National Championships recently. Tina Williams finished the highest with a 14th place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:15.97. Joy Ferrell placed 19th in the Pentathlon in the Midget Girls division. Her time in the 80-meter dash was 15.47, while her time in the 800-meter run was 3:01. She jumped 1.25 meters in the high jump and 3.56 meters in the running long jump and threw the shot put 7.5 meters. Lisa Williams placed 24th in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 6:22.70, while Emma Lee placed 27th in the shot put with a throw of 2.66 meters. Olivia Fisher placed 28th in the 1,500 meters with a time of 6:57.67.
