Neighbor editor Collin Kelley says good-bye For the past decade, I have been a writer, editor and executive editor at The Fayette Neighbor newspaper. As of Aug. 13, that part of my life ended and by the time you read this, I will have started a new chapter. I was named managing editor of Atlanta Intown magazine and I am looking forward to this new adventure and challenge in my career. The point of this letter is to say farewell to all the people in the community that have become my friends over the past 10 years. I am a native of Fayette County, graduated from Fayette County High School and have enjoyed working in the community. The experience I gained has been invaluable. While it is impossible to name all the people I would like to thank for their years of support, I would like to mention a few: Christeen Snell, Dr. Ferrol "Sambo" Sams, Caroline Smith, Francis Cavender, Rose Hall, Vicki Brigham, Catherine Hazelwood, Pat Sennett, Ed and Dotty Miller, Ivy Lockett, Betsy Tyler, Judith Duncan, Len Patton, Janet Goodman, Robert Burch, Linda Wells, Kristi Rapson and Donna Romeo. These people and hundreds more have been friends, mentors and made me laugh. I will miss working with all of you on a regular basis. Over the years, I have ventured into many areas such as theatre, poetry and writing books. However, the first love remains journalism. Thank you to all those who helped me continue to live part of my dream. Collin Kelley Atlanta collinkelley@hotmail.com
