Wheat: Thanks to voters who got message of lower taxes Wheat: Thanks to voters who got message of lower taxes Thanks to the thousands of folks who supported our message of lower taxes and cooperation among our local governments. Though we didn't win the election, our message was and is not lost. After three years of tax rate increases, the commission lowered the tax rate during this heated race. So keep up the pressure, it is working! Debbie and I had a great time making new friends and working with old friends during the campaign. As always, we learned much from the discussions we had with the thousands of Fayette Countians to whom we spoke.
