Kalwaic named Master Gardener of Year for Coweta County

Henry Kalwaic was honored by Render Ward, County Extension Coordinator, as the 2002 Coweta County Master Gardener of the Year at the annual Coweta County Master Gardener Summer Social.

Kalwaic completed the MG training program in 1996 and has since served a total of nearly 550 hours. Many of those hours have been spent answering gardening questions at the Extension office, serving as a consultant to homeowners on site visits, and providing garden presentations to civic groups and garden clubs.

Kalwaic and his wife, Ann, have developed a beautiful garden at their home in East Coweta County. The cluster home community provides a challenge for the Kalwaics working with a limited amount of outdoor space. They have successfully achieved an enviable, intensely planted garden which is full of flowers, color and interest nearly year round. Friends, neighbors, and fellow Master Gardeners frequently seek out Kalwaic's advice for their lawns and gardens.

Kalwaic brings years of experience along with a touch of humor to the Master Gardener program and has been a very well respected gardener in the Coweta County Master Gardener Association for many years.
