Augustino's open in Peachtree City

Grand opening and wine tasting set for Sept. 14

Bill and Tony Ragozzine have opened Augustino's Ristorante Italiano Cuisine in the former Baci's location on Ga. Highway 74 north in Peachtree City, featuring authentic and continental Italian cuisine for lunch and dinner.

An all-you-can-eat Italian buffet is available for lunch. Chef's specials featuring seasonal foods will be presented for dinner. A children's menu is also available.

A jazz combo known as Those Two Guys, with Rick Massengale on keyboard and Bill Nelmes on bass and vocals, performs every Friday evening from 6:30-10 p.m. Special music is planned for Saturdays as well.

A grand opening celebration and wine tasting is planned for Sept. 14, beginning at 6 p.m. Reservations are requested for the wine tasting and dinner.

Fine art from several area artists including Georgette Liberatore-Mocciolo, Al Fortunati, and Eleanor Corbin is displayed throughout the restaurant and is for sale. An artists' reception and wine tasting is planned for after the grand opening.

The Ragozzine brothers have more than 50 years of food service experience between them, starting as teenagers making and serving breads, pizza and pastries, before progressing to executive chef and food service management positions with Marriott hotels in Florida and Atlanta.

Formerly from Youngstown, Ohio, Bill and Tony now live in Peachtree City, where Tony was the executive chef and Bill the general manager of Baci's. They purchased the business in late June.

"We grew up around good food," said Bill. "Our mother would make and sell pizza from home to earn extra money. There was always food cooking in our house."

"We enjoyed all the traditional foods at home and at our grandmother's huge family Sunday dinner," added Tony. "It taught us about classic Italian cooking, and that is the food we are bringing to our patrons in Peachtree City."

All of the food at Augustino's is made on the premises except the pasta. Authentic imported ciabbita bread is served. Desserts feature such Italian favorites as tiramisu, cannoli, and sphgodelle.

The menu features classic appetizers such as fried calamari, artichoke and hearts of palm, gourmet pizza and antipasto salad.

The lunch menu includes the buffet for $5.95, selected entrees, and a variety of sandwich selections featuring foccasia "your way," and meatball and sausage sandwiches.

Dinner entrees feature shrimp scampi, eggplant and chicken parmigiana, and house specialties including herb crusted salmon and trout, chicken or shrimp Florentine and linguine with red or white clam sauce, and more.

Pasta features six varieties and 10 sauces to make "your way."

Appetizers and salads range from $5.95-11.95; entrees from $10.95-$16.95; pasta is $8.95 (additions extra); and items from the children's menu are $4.95.

Augustino's is open weekdays for lunch from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Dinner hours are 4-9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 4-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon-8 p.m. Sunday.

The restaurant is at 282 N. Highway 74 in Peachtree City. The phone number is 770-632-6333. A Web site will be operational soon.

Augustino's is available for private parties, special occasions and office parties. Take-out service is also available.

Reservations are recommended for all special events and wine tastings.
