'Dinner's ready' for local chef's clients By MONROE
ROARK
A new business in Fayetteville is ready to answer the call from folks who are too busy to get their own meals on the table but don't want to eat out every single meal. Dinner's Ready was started this year by Susan Dipuma, a personal chef who has loved cooking all of her life but is new to the cooking profession. Her specialty, as with other personal chefs in the area, is to find out what you like to eat and come right into your home to cook it. A typical client sits down with her for an interview, during which she learns various food likes and dislikes, along with other important information such as food allergies and dietary restrictions. Then she prepares a menu. After the client approves the menu, everyone agrees on a cooking day. Dipuma goes out that morning and shops for the food, so it's fresh, then comes to the client's home and starts cooking, which can take 3-6 hours depending upon what and how much is being cooked. "I have a moblie kitchen in my car," she said. "Pots, pans I bring everything with me." When she's finished, there's food for a few days or a week for some hungry family to eat whenever convenient. The food can be frozen or refrigerated if necessary. Dipuma, who moved with her family from Suwanee to Fayetteville six months ago, has a few local clients already lined up and has been busy cooking for family and friends, "testing recipes," as she put it. A member of the American Personal Chef Association, she serves the entire metro Atlanta area.
