Notable

Roseman L. Deas II is one of 175 cadet candidates who graduated from the Air Force Academy Preparatory School and earned an appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo. The graduate entered the academy in June 2002 as a member of the graduating class of 2006.

The preparatory school's 11-month program prepares, motivates and evaluates cadet candidates for admission to and success at the Air Force Academy. The program integrates academic preparation, military training, and athletic conditioning to enable cadets to function in the academy's demanding environment which is fast-paced and challenging.

To qualify for an appointment to the academy, cadets must successfully complete the school's academic and military training programs, pass a fitness test, exhibit strong ethical character, and receive both prep school commander recommendation and academy board approval.

Deas is the son of Roseman L. Deas of Fayetteville, Ga., and Joe Ann Deas of Prichard, Ala. He is a 2001 graduate of Fayette County High School, Fayetteville.
