McDonough Presbyterian Church presents 'live' Gospel of John The McDonough Presbyterian Church will present "The Gospel of John," a live, one-person performance produced and performed by Atlanta actor Brad Sherrill, Saturday, Aug. 17, at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for children 8 and up, and are available at Moye's Pharmacy in McDonough, Stockbridge, and on Hudson Bridge Rd., as well as through the church office. Proceeds from ticket sales benefit "Rivers of the World," a mission organization that serves remote, indigent peoples. Sherrill spent more than four months memorizing the almost 20,000 words of the Fourth Gospel for the monologue. "With simple props used in a variety of ways, Sherrill transforms the Gospel into a captivating drama," a spokesperson said. "He gingerly moves about the stage and, on occasion, through the audience touching a hand here and a shoulder there, telling listeners the story of Christ." Seating for the performance begins at 6 p.m. For a small fee, limited on-site childcare during the performance is available, with advance reservations only, for children under 8 years of age. Those interested should call the McDonough Presbyterian Church office, 770-957-9890. The church is at 427 McGarity Rd. in McDonough. |
