Annie Moses Band to appear at Prince of Peace Aug. 25

Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Fayetteville will present a concert by the Annie Moses Band Sunday, Aug. 25, at 6 p.m. in the church's Family Life Center. Doors open at 5 p.m.

The band, an American string band that combines styles ranging from classical to pop to country fiddling, features the brothers and sister string trio of violinist/vocalist Annie Wolaver, violist Alex Wolaver, and cellist Benjamin Wolaver all award winning performers and currently scholarship students at the Julliard School of Music in Manhattan. They are joined by guitarist/composer Doug Bolin and drummer Alan Pugielli, along with the award-winning writing team of their parents, pianist Bill Wolaver and vocalist Robin Wolaver.

The group currently is on a 30-city summer concert tour performing favorites from their albums.

"The group merges the excellence of classical training, the fun of popular music, and the message of faith and family, to create a refreshing sound and an inspiring message," a spokesperson said. "They have performed on Good Morning America, Public Radio International, and in the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and Alice Tully Hall. They also have performed with the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra, Starling Chamber Symphony, and the Nashville Youth Symphony, among others."

The Wolavers made their home in Nashville for 11 years before relocating to the New York area in order for Annie, Alex and Ben to study at Julliard.

The band is named for the teens' great-grandmother, Annie Moses, a field hand in Texas, who began the group's musical legacy.
