Get your golden ticket and see FCFT's 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' By MICHAEL
BOYLAN
Nobody is as secretive as Willy Wonka, the most famous candy maker in the world. That is why the world goes absolutely bonkers when a contest is announced and all golden ticket holders get a tour of Wonka's factory led by Wonka himself. Fayette Coweta Family Theatre presents this beloved tale at Spring Hill Elementary School this weekend. The tale focuses on one of the winners, Charlie Bucket, and his Grandpa Joe. They are among the five winners who will get a tour of the Wonka facility. Throughout the tour character flaws of the other winners are revealed and audience members learn valuable lessons about greed, selfishness and avoiding other bad habits. The role of Wonka will be played by veteran Fayette Coweta Family Theatre performer Damien Haas. Haas has appeared as Frick in "Hansel and Gretel," King Awgwa in "The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus" and Winnie-the- Pooh in "A Winnie-the-Pooh Christmas Tail." Haas was also the 2001 FCFT Director's Award winner. Charlie will be played by Andrew Vogeley who was named the Outstanding Juvenile Performer for 2000-2001 by FCFT. Other members of the cast include Ryan Turk as Grandpa Joe, Evan Barron as Augustus Goop, Chene' Smith as Veruca Salt, Caitilin Wade as Violet Beauregarde and Dillon Roseen as Mike Teavee.
