F'ville Council 'arrogant, uncaring' about Pine Trail

I had to write this letter as I have had this boiling inside of me since I attended a meeting of the Fayetteville City Council with my sister and her husband who live in the Huntington Creek area. I am a resident of south Georgia and come up often and each time I come to Fayetteville I have never seen any thing like this traffic. What was a lovely city [is] now a mess of traffic.

Pine Trail has been a mess with all this traffic coming into it since they built this Uptown Mall. I was shocked to hear and look at these men who seemed have "non-caring" attitudes of the residents of this area when a number of homeowners were trying to express concern over what will happen if they open a wide opening left off of Pine Trail into the Uptown Mall.

The traffic then would increase; any dummy would know that this would happen, as more traffic would be coming in and going out onto this street that is not real wide for traffic. Also you have this Office Depot where traffic is always coming in and out, and since I have been here often, my sister and I have seen traffic coming out of the Depot and the Mall into Pine Trail and crossing over the wrong way trying to get into one or the other, with no regard for the signs.

Some gentleman tried to tell this council team that if you open the area up you will have cars zoning across from the Mall or into the Depot and it could cause an accident because of a rise in the street with cars coming into Pine Trail, but he was stopped by one of those arrogant councilmen, saying that you haven't had an accident on Pine Trail yet.

Well, I take that to mean, if you don't have any accidents, we could care less about you. I don't live here in Fayetteville, but my family here means a lot to me, and they are not young, so they can't fight, but believe me there is someone out there that would see the plight of this area.

Oh, well, when you have a council that does not care for its people who live and support Fayetteville, you are lost. It's a shame that these homeowners can't vote in the city elections; you might see a change.
