Fayette Samaritans face being homeless

In the past year there have been over 900 needy families in Fayette County who have sought help from the Fayette Samaritans. This help has been in the form of food, rent, prescription drugs, utilities, clothing, medical and dental services.

The Fayette Samaritans is an all-volunteer organization administered by a board of trustees. Funds for services are provided by several local churches, the United Way, some civic organizations and individuals. Administrative costs for telephone, electricity, water and gas are primarily contributed by the volunteer workers.

Office space for the last year was donated by Mr. Wayne Leslie of Leslie Contracting. However, the year will be completed in September, leaving the Fayette Samaritans with no facility for operations. There are no funds to pay the cost of rent as all church and United Way contributions must go to serve the clients.

If every family in Fayette County would contribute $10, a permanent facility could be purchased permitting the Samaritans to continue assisting the needy and destitute families in Fayette County. Without immediate help, the Fayette Samaritans can no longer continue to function.

Thank you for your assistance at this critical time. Please send your contribution to: Fayette Samaritans, P.O. Box 1071, Fayetteville, GA 30214.
