There's now a new option in dog washing

Last week marked the official ribbon cutting for Puppy Tubs, Inc., a self-service dog wash in Peachtree City.

Owners Susan and Dick Goda are offering a solution for pet owners who don't want their entire house washed along with their dog.

Puppy Tubs, Inc. provides large ceramic waist level tubs, luke warm water, shampoos (including one brand for sensitive skin), moisturizers, aprons, towels, grooming tables, dryers, brushes, ear cleaner, toe clippers, canine colognes and more.

Puppy Tubs also offers an exclusive "Frequent Sudzer" plan, which works this way: If a dog gets 10 baths with each visit, the customer gets a flea punch-holed off his or her Frequent Sudzer card the 11th bath is free. No other dog washing service offers this bonus, though in truth, Puppy Tubs is one of Georgia's few self-service dog washes.

Puppy Tubs provides everything you need to bathe, dry and basically groom your pet, and cleans up the mess! In addition, they have added a professional grooming service for those canines (and felines) that require more than just bathing.

The Godas, who recently retired from Delta Air Lines (after a combined 49 years of service) spotted a self-service dog wash in Southern California last summer and thought Fayette and Coweta counties might be ready for the concept.

Puppy Tubs offers a variety of extras like the proverbial dog favorite, pig ears which looks like something the late-period Confederate soldier would've eaten. There is also a myriad of other dog and cat delectables available.

The unique concept is located at 116 Huddleston Road in Peachtree City and can be contacted at 770-632-7099.

Summer hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays. Sorry, they're closed on Wednesdays.
