Expo for deer hunters this weekend
Georgia sportsmen and women should make plans to attend the third annual South Atlanta Deer Hunter's Spectacular in McDonough to find out all the latest information on making the upcoming deer season their best. Conservation Rangers with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Wildlife Resources Division (WRD) will be on hand at this event to answer questions and allow attendees to test their shooting skills on the Laser Shot System and view items in the WRD Wildlife Trailer. This event will be held July 19 from 3-9 p.m., July 20 from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. and July 21 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Showcase Event Center located at 155 Mill Road (I-75, exit 221) in McDonough. There is a $5 admission fee and children under 12 are admitted free. Over $40,000 worth of door prizes will be given away during the course of the weekend - including a Riverhawk boat and trailer, Remington .270 caliber deer rifle and scope, Rod and Reel combo, diamond plate tool box, spray-in bedliner, guided deer hunting and bass fishing trips, tree stands and more. Drawings will be held every hour on the hour during the weekend and winners must be present to win. Attendees also can register as individuals or as three-person teams to compete for cash awards in the South Atlanta "3-D Shoot-out" archery shoot. Entry fees are $25 per person or $250 per team. Visitors also can bring their own compound bow (or use one on site) to shoot at the "Archery Sure Shot" challenge for a chance to win great prizes such as a Polaris 4x4, Deer Stands, a compound bow, rifle, camo, etc. Attendees can get some of the best deals of the year on hunting and fishing equipment from Wilborn Outdoors, Solo Archery, Brown's Outdoor Connection, Gables Sporting Goods, Triple T Outdoors, Featherlite Tree Stands, Muzzy Products and many, many more.
