AMS celebrates the Fourth with Fireworks and Thursday Thunder

Atlanta Motor Speedway will light up the night sky with a brilliant display of fireworks and an equally intense show of racing thrills and excitement on Thursday, July 4 for the Spalding Automotive Group's Red, White and Blue Racing and Firework Spectacular night.

The 4th of July celebration at Atlanta Motor Speedway is the perfect solution for families. While the children play entertaining games on the concourse such as the football throw, bean bag toss, putting green and mini-track racing the adults will be thrilled by the excitement of Legends, Bandolero and Roadster racing. Plus, we'll cap the night off with a spectacular firework show.

Especially for the 4th of July celebration, Atlanta Motor Speedway will also open up the gates early so that fans can enjoy a barbecue-style picnic along with some of their favorite Thursday Thunder drivers. For the 4th of July only, the gates will open at 4 p.m., and fans can spend the next hour eating the usual cookout fare such as burgers and hot dogs, as well as holiday specials such as watermelon slices for just 25 cents. It will also be a great time for fans to meet their favorite drivers, collect autographs or just enjoy the summer evening at the speedway.

Once the drivers leave for practice at 5 p.m., the concourse will open up for special holiday-themed games and fun. Fans will also have the chance to register for the new NAPA 500 ultimate weekend package which includes four tickets to Georgia-Pacific Qualifying Night, the Aaron's 312 Busch Series race and the NAPA 500, as well as four pre-race pit passes and other great prizes, including ride-alongs from the Richard Petty Driving Experience.

Also up for grabs will be an expanded list of giveaways from local businesses, including Outback Steakhouse, Buffalo's, Bruster's, Manhattan's, Mama's, Sonny's, Sonic Drive-In and Chick-fil-A. As always, there will also be loads of hats, T-shirts, koozies, keychains, mugs and die-cast cars given away each night.

Tickets are available at Gate 13 the night of the event and are just $5 for adults, $1 for children (5 and under are free). Parking is free. Spectator gates open at 6 p.m. with preliminary action starting immediately. Feature racing begins at 7:30 p.m. and will conclude by 10:30 p.m. Contact the speedway ticket office at (770) 946-4211 for information, or visit www.atlantamotorspeedway.com.
