fenced dog park
In an age where people are becoming more isolated within their homes, and where we talk more through our keyboards than our vocal cords, it has become all the more important to hang on to whatever sense of community that we have left. What good is a dog park without a fence? You can meet people walking their dogs on a golf cart path. But you can only visit with them until you've been booted off by speeding teens. This park would be for the dogs to let loose and run and sniff every blade of grass while children laugh as they watch their four-legged critters be free. In the aftermath of 9-11, people have changed their priorities. Spending time with family is more important than ever. And to the citizens of Peachtree City, I know Fido is part of the family. All of you opposed to this park need to go see some of the dog parks in other cities. Orlando has a wonderful park. Seattle's park is outstanding. And of course, there is Urbana, Ill. This city plans to spend $80,000 for their dog park. What's a lousy $14,000 when you see the smiles on all of those furry faces and grins from all of the families they own?
