Father's Day extra special this year

Hello everyone!

Can you believe it? Another win for the Steve Dale Motorsports team - that makes it six for us in the first eight races of the season. This week's victory came at Elko Speedway in Elko, Minnesota. Elko is a neat track, it's the smallest track that we go to all year, just 3/8th of a mile. It took me back to the days of racing Legends cars here in Georgia. Our win came on Sunday (Father's Day) and it made a really nice present.

We were definitely at a disadvantage going into the race. It was a brand new track for us, but several of the other top teams were from the area and had cut a lot of laps at the facility. But in the end, the crew gave me an awesome car that really was able to work in both the lower and upper grooves, which allowed me a little more freedom to pass. The team was also flawless in our pit stops. We changed two tires and gassed up our No. 83 Camp Fire USA Georgia Council Chevy in just eight seconds. I can't ask for more than that from the pit crew.

The win capped off a great week for the Steve Dale Motorsports team. We spent last week in Minnesota working out of a shop in the Minneapolis area. Without having to come back to Georgia in between our races in Wisconsin and Minnesota, we had time to test at an upcoming racetrack and take a day or two off to rest. On my day off, I went to the Mall of America in Minneapolis with my wife Brandi and our children Christopher and Emily. Because I was going to be tied up racing on Father's Day, we decided to spend a family day together. We spent most of our time at Camp Snoopy amusement park (located inside the mall). Being able to spend time with my family and stay focused on my racing career are my two priorities and I do my best to keep the two balanced.

Well, no rest for the weary. This weekend we will be at I-70 Speedway in Odessa, Missouri for a one day show. The race will be tape delayed on The National Network (TNN), so make sure that you check your local television listings. Thanks for your support.

Until next time,

Joey
