My parents' drug problem

By DR. KNOX HERNDON
Pastor

Throughout my ministry over the last 30 years, I would hear over and over from people who resented their parents for one reason or the other. Often when I would invite them to church, and I do that from 10-30 people a week, they would say that the reason they don't go today is because "their parents" drug them to church when they were under their roof. I always respond with "you really had some great parents that loved and cared for you and tried to lead you in the right path for the problems of life." I would have appreciated people telling me that they "wished" their parents had loved them enough to "take" them to church each week and to give them the foundations they needed for life.

The bible says to train a child in the way he should go....

DRUG PROBLEM

Pastor John Hagee made this comment:

"I had a 'DRUG' problem when I was a young person and teenager. I was 'DRUG' to church on Sunday morning. I was 'DRUG' to church on Sunday night.

I was 'DRUG' to church on Wednesday night. I was 'DRUG' to Sunday School every week. I was 'DRUG' to Vacation Bible School.

I was 'DRUG' to the family altar to read the bible and pray. I was also 'DRUG' to the woodshed when I disobeyed my parents.

"Those 'DRUGS' are still in my veins, and they affect my behavior in every thing I do, say and think. They are stronger than cocaine, crack or heroin.

If our children had this 'DRUG' problem, America would certainly be a better place." (Gigi Washington)

I agree with Gigi, this is a drug problem we all need.
