Singles group starts at PTC First Presbyterian

STAND (Singles Taking A New Direction), a new Fayette singles group geared toward the college and career group ages 19-30, will meet each Wednesday, beginning June 5, at 6:30 p.m. The group will assemble in the parking lot of the First Presbyterian Church in Peachtree City and carpool to individual homes for food, fellowship, music and Bible study. Hopewell UMC to host Chicken-barbecue June 8

Hopewell United Methodist Church in Tyrone will have a "chicken-que" Saturday, June 8, from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. A $6 donation will buy a chicken dinner, including half a chicken (barbecued), baked beans, cole slaw, bread and iced tea. Hopewell is on Jenkins Rd. in Tyrone, across from Sandy Creek High School.

DeLeo to preach first sermon at Hogansville CEC

Jerome DeLeo of Newnan, a member of Christ the King Charismatic Episcopal Church in Peachtree City, will preach his first sermon, Sunday, June 9, at 4:30 p.m., at St. Matthew's, a new Charismatic Episcopal Church in Hogansville. DeLeo is an aspirant for Holy Orders (ordination) and is a seminarian at St. Michael's Seminary. The sermon is part of the fulfillment of requirements for a homiletics course at the seminary.

St. Andrew's welcomes UK's Consul-General

St. Andrew's in-the-Pines Episcopal Church will welcome guest speaker Michael Bates, Consul-General of the United Kingdom, as members celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, Sunday, June 9, at 2 p.m. A reception will follow. The public is invited to attend. St. Andrew's is at 316 Peachtree Pkwy. North, Peachtree City.

Holloway will address Christ the King men's group

The Right Rev. John W. Holloway, Bishop of the Diocese of Georgia for the Charismatic Episcopal Church, will address the men of Christ the King at the men's fellowship breakfast Saturday, June 15, at 9 a.m. The breakfast is open to all men in the community and will be held at the church's property at 4881 E. Fayette Pentecostal Church plans yard sale

Fayetteville United Pentecostal Church will have a yard sale Saturday, June 29, from 6 a.m. until 2 p.m. A large selection of items will be available. The church is at 479 Inman Rd.

Fairburn UMC opens registration for toddler classes

Fairburn United Methodist Church is now accepting registration for the Mom's Morning Out program to begin Sept. 9. Classes are available for children ages 6 months to 3 1/2 years and include one-day and two-day programs meeting on Mondays and Wednesdays. Young toddlers (18-30 months) and older toddlers (2 1/2 to 3 1/2 will meet both days. Babies 6-12 months will meet Mondays and babies 12-18 months will meet Wednesdays. The cost is $40 per month for the one-day program and $75 per month for the two-day program. The registration fee is equal to one month's tuition. The church is in downtown Fairburn.
