Time running out to sign up for youth triathlon One of the largest youth triathlons in the United States will take place in Fayette County on Saturday, June 1. Applications for the 11th annual Peachtree City Youth Triathlon are available in the Peachtree City and Fayetteville Recreation deartments, libraries, health clubs, Publix and the Kedron Aquatic Center. Applications must be received by May 24. A $20 entry fee includes a race t-shirt, participation medal, water bottle and post race snacks. Proceeds are donated to youth programs in Peachtree City. The triathlon will start at 7:30 a.m. at the Glenloch Recreation Center in Peachtree City. The distances for the athletes are split into two divisions. The junior division consists of children ages 7-10 years old. This age group will swim 50 yards, bike three miles and run a half mile. The senior division, open to children ages 11-15 years old, will swim 100 yards, bike six miles and run one mile. Trophies are given to first, second and third place for each age and gender and everyone finishing the race will receive a medal.
