Clemmer chosen as vicar of new CEC in Meriwether County

Ron Clemmer of Hogansville, a member of Christ the King Charismatic Episcopal church in Peachtree City, has been selected as the lay vicar of St. Matthews Charismatic Episcopal Church in Hogansville, it was announced recently by the Right Rev. John W. Holloway, bishop of the Diocese of Georgia for the International Communion of the Charismatic Episcopal Church.

Clemmer and his wife, Nancy, have held extensive leadership positions in churches over the years. The primary responsibility for planting the new church will fall upon Christ the King Church in Peachtree City.

"A 'vicar' essentially is the pastor of a mission congregation," explained the Rev. David Epps, rector of Christ the King. "Ron is a candidate for ordination in the Charismatic Episcopal Church and is attending St. Michael's Seminary. Upon his ordination, the 'lay' will be dropped from his title."

St. Matthews will have its first service on Pentecost Sunday, May 19, at 4:30 p.m. in Hogansville.

For additional information about St. Matthews, including worship location, contact Ron or Nancy Clemmer, 706-637-5905.
