PTC First Presbyterian offers a VBS SonCanyon Adventure

Children in the community are invited to attend a "SonCanyon River Adventure" at First Presbyterian Church in Peachtree City's Vacation Bible School Monday, June 24, through Friday, June 28, from 9 a.m. until noon. The theme is a river rafting adventure with singing, crafts, skits, and games which focus on a practical aspect of wisdom from the book of Proverbs.

The event is geared toward children who will be entering kindergarten this fall through those who are rising seventh graders.

"Through the Bible stories, children will meet Solomon, the main writer of Proverbs," a spokesperson said. "Then they'll follow his father, David, through dangerous adventures to see how David and his friends acted wisely. Most importantly, they will hear about Jesus, 'who has become for us the wisdom from God.' (1 Corinthians 1:30)"

Kelly Landsiedel is the VBS director this year and says the adventure curriculum will help teach children important life skills as they learn to use wisdom in everyday situations.

"This promises to be an adventure children will not soon forget," she added.

Registration begins June 9 and must be done in person at the church. For registration information, call the church office, 770-487-7757. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

First Presbyterian is at 206 Willowbend Rd. in Peachtree City, across from the city hall/library complex.
