National Heights summer camp offers solution for parents' no-school dilemma

National Heights Baptist Church in Fayetteville may have a solution for parents looking for summer child care after the school year comes to an end this month.

The church offers a summer camp, beginning in May and continuing through August, for children who have completed kindergarten through fifth grade.

"Our church offers a solution for families needing a dependable and fun place for children during the summer months," a spokesperson said. "Each summer, National Heights opens the doors of its Child Development Center to children in the community, and each week we will explore a different topic. Over the course of the summer we will have learned about American Tales, Dynomite Dinosaurs, Australia, Africa, Native Americans, and much, much more."

The camp has planned three out-of-town field trips one to Zoo Atlanta, one to Fernbank, and one to Callaway Gardens. Local field trips also are planned to the movies, the park, the skating rink and the library.

The cost per week is $90 per child and parents may choose any or all weeks to enroll their children. There is a one time registration fee of $30.

For more information, call the church office, 770-461-1704, and speak to Mrs. Ruth Williams, the Rev. Kim Hardegree, or Dr. Bill Scarbrough.

National Heights is on the corner of Old Norton Rd. and Ga. Hwy. 54, west of Fayetteville.
