Small Business Week is featuring seminars

This year's Small Business Week celebration - "Small Business: Where Americans Work" will honor the estimated 25.5 million small businesses in America that create 76 percent of all new jobs.

Throughout the month, Service Corps. Of Retired Executives/Atlanta joins chapters nationwide in hosting small business seminars, meetings and networking events.

Each year for the past 39 years, the President of the United States has issued a proclamation calling for the celebration of Small Business Week.

This year, Small Business Week, which is sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration, is this week.

During the festivities in Washington, D.C., the SCORE Chapter of the Year will be recognized, along with many of the nation's most successful entrepreneurs and small business leaders.

SCORE is committed to advancing small business, envigorating the American economy, and helping the newly unemployed who are turning to self-employment and entrepreneurship.

Since 1964, SCORE has provided free and confidential business advice to nearly 4.5 million small businesses through its network of more than 11,500 volunteer retired and active businesss owners, managers, and executives.

SCORE's working and retired volunteers donate their expertise to help entrepreneurs prepare business plans, develop business strategies, and gather valuable information about doing business in local jurisdictions.

All SCORE counseling is free and confidential.
