Football returns with spring fling at Starr's Mill

Are you ready for some football?

Starr's Mill will give it to you with their annual sprign fling, which will take place next Friday at Panther Stadium. The annual event offers a "Powder Puff" game between the senior and junior girls, the ninth grade football team scrimmage, featuring upcoming middle school players and, of course, a varsity scrimmage.

The Touchdown Club is planning a benefit raffle to take place at half time of the varsity scrimage, when two pairs of round trip tickets donated by AirTran and American Airlines will be drawn. The raffle tickets are a sugested $5 donation per ticket and all proceds raised from the raffle will go to help former Fayette County football player Justin Holloway who was seriously injured in a car accident and remains hospitalized.

In addition, tickets for a 27 inch television set are available for $1. The drawing for the TV and a second prize of $100 cash will take place in Fayetteville on may 18. Participants need not be present to win for either raffle.

The Spring Fling will begin with the Powder Puff game at 4:15 p.m., followed by the ninth grade team at 5:30 p.m. and the varsity at 7 p.m.
