Gays not living in sin; they just learned to fly

Who are you people?

I just read Cal Beverly's rendition of "-phobes". I've got to tell you that it was a bit scary. If you would be so kind as to pat him on the head and tell him that no one is going to make him eat watermelon, I'll leave it at that.

"...When we walk to the edge of all the light we have and take that step into the darkness of the unknown we must believe that one of two things will happen: There will be something solid to stand on, or we will be taught how to fly." (Pat Overton.)

I like to think of my favorite saying as the Optimist Prayer. I have friends who are gay and I don't think they are living in sin; I think they were taught how to fly. I have no authorities for which to back up my statements, one of Cal's requirements. After all, I am just an imperfect human being.

I believe the capacity for decency and honesty and compassion and love to be the barometer of a person's worth and not with whom they chose to be decent and honest and compassionate and loving.

I guess you see you've touched a nerve. I'd like to say, "Who are you to judge another person?" but then, it occurs to me, I would be judging you. I can't win that one so I will just walk until I run out of light.
