They say that you want to be playing your best baseball towards the end of the season. Two of the local teams are playing great baseball right now and there are a limited number of games left in the regular season.

Sandy Creek faced Westlake, Creekside and Rockdale County last week and won all three games, outscoring their opponents 43-14. The Patriots faced Westlake last Wednesday and won 15-4. They defeated Creekside 15-8 on Friday and then blasted Rockdale County 13-2 on Monday. They will hope to keep their bats hot as they play at Heritage on Friday and then will host Jones County on Monday. Both games are scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.

Fayette County's Tigers are also swinging hot bats. They duked it out with McIntosh last Wednesday and won 13-10. The Tigers then faced Mt. Zion, Jonesboro on Friday and won 15-5. On Monday the Tigers pounded Newnan, 15-2. Fayette County has outscored their last three opponents 43-17. They will play their final three games of the season at Henry County today, Jonesboro on Friday and Morrow on Monday. All three games are scheduled for 5:30 p.m. starts.

After losing an offensive battle to Fayette County last Wednesday, 13-10, the Chiefs lost at Henry County on Friday, 8-5. McIntosh hosted Jonesboro yesterday and will play at Morrow today at 5:30 p.m. before hosting Evans at 5 p.m. on Friday. They will close out the season at Stockbridge on Monday at 7 p.m.

Starr's Mill lost a close game to Henry County last Wednesday, 8-7 and then rebounded with a 3-0 win over Jonesboro last Friday. On Monday, the Panthers hosted Senior day and lost to Morrow, 4-3 after jumping out to an early 1-0 lead. Starr's Mill is playing at Evans today and are scheduled to host Stockbridge tomorrow at 5:30 p.m. They will close out the regular season on Monday at Riverdale.
