2002 Spring Garden Tour returns this Saturday By MICHAEL
BOYLAN Spring is in the air. The weather is warmer, the sun seems brighter and gardens are in full bloom. Green thumbs, garden aficionados and those who enjoy strolling through beautiful scenes of nature can rejoice because the 2002 Spring Garden Tour, a benefit for Peachtree City Elementary School, returns this Saturday. The tour travels through some of Peachtree City's finest gardens, showcasing a wide variety of flowers, trees and plants as well as some impressive landscaping. Neighborhoods featured on the tour include Smokerise, Kimmeridge, The Highlands, and Santolina Park among others. Each of the gardens on the tour has its own theme or themes. Some reflect a particular area like Charleston, Savannah or New England, while others aim more for aesthetic pleasure and include splashes of colors or geometric designs. The tour starts at St. Andrews Square gardens with a tea tasting provided by Teavana. Advance tickets for the tour are $10 and can be purchased at Peachtree City Elementary School or Beard and Co. at The Avenue. Tickets the day of the event are $12 and must be purchased at the St. Andrews Square Gardens. The 2002 Spring Garden Tour will last from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday.
