McIntosh tennis gets three wins

The McIntosh boys and girls tennis teams won their last three matches 5-0. The Chiefs and Lady Chiefs faced Riverdale and Lovejoy at home and East Coweta on the road and are looking very dominant so far in the season.

B.J. James, James Dwyer and Phil Van Fossan won their three singles matches against Riverdale by a score of 8-0, while the doubles teams of Justin Hale and Robert Lochridge and Stefan James and Osman Farqui also won by that score. The girls also won all of their matches by a score of 8-0. The singles winners were Sunya Sweeney, Rebecca Timmis and Shelby Carlson while the doubles winners were Lauren Wilde and Adriane Hodges and Reem Farqui and Renae Clarke.

In their match against Lovejoy, singles winners for the boys were B.J. James, 8-1; Stefan James, 8-0; and Justin Hale, 8-2. Francois Pienaar and Farqui won their doubles match, 8-1, while the doubles team of Hoot Fisher and Patrick Thomas won their match 9-7. Singles winners for the girls were Rebecca Timmis, 8-1; Denise Daughenbaugh, 8-0; and Clarke, 8-1. Doubles winners were Sweeney and Carlson, 8-0 and Lily Yarborough and Farqui, 8-2.

In their match against East Coweta, singles winners for the boys were B.J. James, 8-1; Van Fossan, 8-1; and Stefan James, 8-0. Doubles winners were Hale and Pienaar, 8-0; and Farqui and Fisher, 8-1. Singles winners for the girls were Priscilla Roberts, 8-1; Timmis, 8-0; and Daughenbaugh, 8-0. The doubles teams of Sweeney-Carlson and Clarke-Wilde both won 8-0.

The McIntosh tennis team will be off until Tuesday, April 9, when they take on Fayette County High School.
