Teams head into spring break

When the school bell rings today, spring break begins. Some of the high school athletic teams will go into the break with a lot of action, while others will rest until break is over.

Sandy Creek's boys and girls soccer teams are off until April 9 when they travel to take on union Grove. The lady patriots entered the break with a 6-2 loss to Rockdale County, while the boys pulled out a 4-1 win. A wi after the break against Union Grove puts the boys in the state playoffs for the first time ever.

McIntosh's boys and girls will play in tournaments this weekend. The boys will play oak mountain, Ala. today at 6 p.m. and Bishop England, S.C. tomorrow at 1 p.m., while the girls play St. Francis, Calif. today at 4 p.m. and Lovett tomorrow at 3 p.m. The girls games will be played at McCurry Park in Fayetteville while the boys games will be at McIntosh.

Baseball games this weekend include Rockdale at Sandy Creek today at 5:30 p.m. and Lovejoy at Starr's Mil and Stockbridge at Fayette County at 7 p.m. McIntosh will host Eagle's Landing tomorrow at 7 p.m.
