Seals accepting nomiantions for county swimmer of the year, Hall of Fame Swimming is a life sport that is enjoyed by over two million people of all ages and abilities. As the premier masters swim team in the south metro Atlanta area, and as leaders in the swimming community, the Southside Seals actively promote swimming at all levels. The Southside Seals sponsor two annual awards to recognize outstanding accomplishments in swimming by members of the Fayette County swimming community. The Fayette County Swimmer of the Year is awarded annually to the most outstanding male and female swimmers for the last calendar year. The award is open to swimmers that are residents of Fayette County or members of USS, high school and recreation teams that are based in Fayette County. The selection of the outstanding swimmers of the year are based on the accomplishments of those swimmers in the pool, classroom and community. The winners of the awards receive a plaque and their names are added to a master plaque displayed at the home pool of the Southside Seals. The Fayette County Swimming Hall of Fame recognizes lifetime achievement by swimmers and coaches as residents of Fayette County or as members of a Fayette County based team. Members of the hall receive an award plaque and are listed on a plaque displayed at the home pool of the Seals. No more than four individuals can be elected to the hall in any year. Nominations are now open for both Swimmer of the Year and the Swimming Hall of Fame and nomination forms are due by April 15. Winners are selected by the Southside Seals and will be announced in May.
