Word of mouth discouraged one from going to Center I was very interested in the recent articles you published concerning the Senior Center here in Fayette County. I had missed attending the public hearing. Several years ago, I had made several calls to friends of mine inquiring about the Center and the possibility for my friends or me to attend and participate with other seniors. Instead of receiving positive feedback about the Center and its programs, I received information that caused me to decline pursuit of enrolling there. It seems that seniors are being burdened with unnecessary "do's and don'ts." I have also heard that other acts of unkindness are occurring. It is tough for the average senior-citizen, living on a fixed income, having exorbitant medical and drug bills facing them, continuing to cope with cost of living increases, and so on. Let's give them a few hours of pleasure to escape from the day-to-day challenges of aging. I commend those people, seniors who have been at the Center and past employees and volunteers, for their courage to speak up and fix this problem. E.V. Snyder Peachtree City
