Polling place changes announced

Fulton County's Department of Registration and Elections recently mailed approximately 19,000 precinct cards notifying voters of precinct or polling place changes.

The changes will be in effect for the Tuesday, March 19, 2002 special purpose local option sales tax election.

Each precinct card shows the voter's polling place. Voters must go to the correct polling places because their names will not be on the voter's list of any other location. Voters must vote where they are registered.

Fulton County voters wanting to confirm their polling places should call Fulton County Voter Registration at 404-730-7072 before March 19. On election day, the Department of Registration and Elections' phone lines will be extremely busy.

The SPLOST referendum, which is countywide, is being conducted for the Atlanta and Fulton County boards of education.

On election day, members of the Elections Department will post signs at former polling places indicating changes. The purpose is to assist voters who may not have received their precinct cards or who are unaware of the changes.
