Peachtree City Little League has extended the registration deadline for their tee ball program until March 15. All girls and boys who will be five or six years old on July 31, 2002, and who meet the residence requirement of the league are eligible to play tee ball in Peachtree City. Teams will be formed in March and practices will begin March 16. games are scheduled to begin after spring break. Players usually participate in two activities per week. Spring basketball registration with Fayette County Youth Basketball Association at the Recreation Center on Redwine Road from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. See www.fcyba.org. The league is open to ages 12-14 and 15-18 only.

Aberdeen Woods Conference Center in Peachtree City is organizing a golf tournament to benefit the March of Dimes. The outing will be held at Whitewater Country Club on Monday, March 18 at 12:30 PM. The cost to enter this shotgun start, best ball tournament will be $75 per player. Individuals and teams are welcome to participate. A picnic lunch, beverages and prizes will be provided. The Peachtree City Lacrosse Club will be conducting a Developmental Clinic for all 5th graders and above at the Riley Fields (near Peachtree City Elementary) on Sunday, March 3 ( and every Sunday there after) from 3-5:00 p.m. Weather permitting. Further info contact Ed Craver at 770-486-8616.

The 14th Annual Chamber Golf Tournament will take place at noon on Wednesday, Apr. 17 at Whitewater Country Club. Lunch and registration starts at 11 a.m. and dinner and awards follow the completion of the round. The format will be a Ft. Lauderdale/4 person team and the entry fee is $105 per player. The Fayette County Wrestling Club, open to children Grades 1 through 8, practices two nights a week in the old Fayette County High School gym. The fee for the season is $80, which goes towards the wrestling card, a t-shirt and the FCHS wrestling team. The club finished second in the state last year. Registration is now open for the Ten Star All Star Summer Basketball Camp. The camp, which is invitation only, offers an individual camp and a team camp. School and AAU teams can apply for team camps and boys ages 14-19 are eligible. Phone 704-568-6801 for a brochure and more information.

The Tyrone Recreation Department will offer Little Hoopers, a basketball program for ages 3-4, Tuesdays from 6-7 p.m. from Feb. 26-April 16. Classes will take place in the Tyrone Elementary School gym. The fee is $50. Phone 770-487-4694.

The Tyrone Recreation Department will offer tennis classes. Pee Wee tennis is open for ages 4-7, Thursdays from 6-7 p.m. at the Shamrock Park tennis court. Youth tennis is open to ages 8-14 and adult tennis is open to ages 15 and up. Youth tennis meets 7-8 p.m. and adults meet 8-9 p.m. The fee is $25 per session. The session lasts March 7-28. The Wendell Coffee Golf Center will offer a 2002 Spring Break Junior Golf Camp, April 1-4 for a fee of $175 for ages 6-14. The day begins at 8:30 a.m. and lasts until 2:30 p.m. Phone 770-969-4469.

The Fayette County 4-H Shotgun Club is accepting registration at the Fayette County Extension office, room 209, for children in grades 6-12. Cost is $45, including insurance and targets. Phone 770-460-5730 ext. 5412.

System U Speed is now recruiting people interested in the highly competitive sport of inline speed skating. The team is currently practicing Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 4:30 to 6:30 at the Newnan Skate Palace.
