Soccer teams start week with wins

Tuesday's soccer action saw most of the local teams win and win big.

Starr's Mill's boys and girls both won their games 15-0. The Lady Panthers defeated Forest Park and the boys beat Mt. Zion, Jonesboro. The Starr's Mill girls (3-0) were led in scoring by Erin Shah who recorded four goals. Starr's Mill's boys (2-2) and girls will play at Milton tonight. They will host Morrow on Tuesday night and Parkview next Friday.

McIntosh's girls won their game against Eagle's Landing, 15-0. The McIntosh Lady Chiefs (5-0) have outscored their opponents 63-1 this season. They will be off until Tuesday when they play at East Coweta. McIntosh's boys (2-0) travel to Alabama for the weekend. Tonight, the Chiefs will play Briarwood Christian and tomorrow they will face Randolph. They will play at East Coweta on Tuesday and at Fayette County next Friday at 8 p.m.

Fayette County's girls (1-2) defeated East Coweta, 2-1 for their first win of the season. They will play Riverdale at Twelve Oaks stadium tonight and will host Brookwood on Tuesday. The Fayette County boys team played at North Clayton on Wednesday night and won 15-0. The Tigers are 3-0 as they gear up for a game against Riverdale tonight and next Friday's game against McIntosh.

Sandy Creek's boys (3-0) defeated Spalding, 4-3 on Tuesday. Senior Kevin Erickson netted two goals for the Patriots. Erickson will sign a letter of intent next week to play for Bradley University. Sandy Creek's boys and girls will play in the LaGrange tournament this weekend. The boys will face LaGrange tonight at 8 p.m. and Harris County at 1 p.m. tomorrow.

The East Coweta Lady Indians (2-1) will play at Henry County tomorrow before their Tuesday match-up with McIntosh at 5:30 p.m. and the Newnan Lady Cougars (1-1) will be off until Tuesday when they play at Northgate at 7 p.m.
