Graham nets Gatorade Georgia High School Player of the Year Award The honors just keep rolling in for for Starr's Mill senior Alison Graham. She was named to the Parade All American squad earlier this season and was recently named the Gatorade Georgia High School Girls Soccer Player of the Year. This award puts Graham in contention for the coveted national High School Girls Soccer Player of the Year award, which will be announced later this year. Graham is not the first Lady Panther to receive this award. Janet Burke was named the 1999-2000 Gatorade Georgia Player of the Year. Graham has collected a number of other awards including NSCAA All-American fr 2000-2001, MVP for Starr's Mill for the past three years leading the team to back to back AAA state championships in 1999 and 2000. Graham will attend Clemson University in the fall. Graham's place among soccer's elite has been highlighted this year by her training to represent the U.S. at the FIFA Junior World Cup in Canada this summer. She is the only player from Georgia training with the U-19 team and, if she makes the final squad, will showcase her talents in the first ever U-19 World Cup. Qualifying for the World Cup begins in Trinidad and Tobago in April.
