The Ambassador Corps of the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce has honored one its own, Sharon Cummings.

The corps was first established five years ago and consists of 30 chamber volunteers who can be seen at chamber events in bright red jackets.

Ambassadors cannot miss more than four events a year and also are given the privilege of shepherding new members through their first year.

Sharon Cummings not only met all the criteria of the corps but also tackled a couple of problems and found winning solutions.

She also serves her church and her community. If she cannot be found in the choir at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church just look at its orchestra, where she can be found playing a violin.

She serves as the secretary of the Fayette Senior Services board.
