Comedy night at hangar 74 a growing hit By JANET
McGREGOR
If you've noticed a large number of new laugh lines on the faces of Fayette County residents, you can blame it on Hangar 74. The popular pub has become part of the national Comedy Spot circuit and will be featuring well-known comedians every Thursday. The first two shows drew a full house and upcoming shows are selling out fast. On Thursday, Feb. 21, Phil Hogan will be keeping the crowds in stitches. Hogan has been in the entertainment business for over 20 years. He is a musician playing bass and singing in bands both locally and throughout the eastern United States. In 1990 Hogan took the stage as a professional comedian. His show is a Southern flavored blend of original comedy songs, straight stand-up, and a few parodies and musical impressions. Hogan has opened for Jeff Foxworthy, Carrot Top, Jerry Reed and Lee Roy Parnell. Darryl Rhoades will open for Hogan. The following week, the nationally known comedian and pianist Jerry Farber will step onto the stage. Farber is one of Atlanta's most recognized and acclaimed performers, entertaining for over two decades. Fans voted Farber one of the top five celebrities in Atlanta in an Atlanta Constitution Poll and he was selected Entertainer of the year by Atlanta Magazine three times, and favorite storyteller by Cobb Magazine. Farber has a best selling book "Sex, Wealth and Power: How to live without them". Hangar 74 is closed to the general public from 6:30- 9:30 p.m. on Thursdays for the dinner and comedy theater. The venue is smoke free during dinner and the show. Dinner is served between 6:30 and 7 p.m., and the comedy show begins at 8 p.m. Dinner and the show are $20, or tickets for the show only can be purchased for $10. Reservations are strongly encouraged as space is limited. For information visit the Web site, www.Hangar74.com or call 770-631-1980.
