Wednesday, February 13, 2002 Ballard building in Oak Park Jerry Ballard Homes has announced that it will build 14 homes in Oak Park, a neighborhood in SummerGrove, Pathway Communities' master planned community in Newnan. Ray Rogerson, Jerry Ballard Homes' vice president/operations, said the homes will be priced from $180,000 to $200,000. "The sitework has already been done on the building lots, and we plan to start construction on homes this month," he said. Rogerson said the Oak Park homes will be based on the same highly-successful plans the builder used in Albemarle, a neighborhood in Peachtree City. These designed, created by Eisenlau, Craft & Associates Inc. and David Kent (dk Designs), recall memories of homes built in the 1920s and 1930s. Each home includes such features as a large covered front porch, copper roof accents, brick water table, a garage set back from the main house, wide crown moldings, nine-ft. ceilings, shutters with shutter dogs, and a butler1s pantry (serving area) between the kitchen and dining room. Oak Park will be a picturesque neighborhood of 40 homes with ranch style and two-story traditional homes. Many of the homes will border a four-acre park and common area which has pine and pecan groves, walking paths, an open area for recreation, and a playground. SummerGrove, located on Lower Fayetteville Road, is a community with neighborhoods with a wide variety of price ranges and an amenities package which include an 18-hole championship golf course, three swimming pools, tennis courts, beach volleyball and basketball courts and a lake, as well as hundreds of acres of parks, paths, grassy spaces and wooded areas. The community is a short drive from I-85 and from the extensive shopping and dining opportunities in the area. Each home in SummerGrove includes upgraded wiring which meets the technology needs of today and tomorrow.
