How about declaring a moratorium on whining? I believe that Peachtree City has a certain charm. It isn't just the golf cart paths, the beautifully landscaped areas, or the recreation areas. The real charm of this city is the citizens. Truly, it is the "community" ambiance that attracts many people to our fair city. Is Peachtree City a business mecca? Nope, don't think so. Was it meant to be a "big business" center? Don't know for sure, but probably not. Why all this turmoil over a moratorium? Businesses that are interested in PTC before the moratorium will be interested when it is over. PTC is a model city and has much to offer that cannot be found in the surrounding cities. I was at the council meeting when the moratorium was discussed, if you can call it a discussion. I heard a lot about businesses but not a lot about people. Since I am a resident of Wynnmeade, I see a lot of construction. Our residents are directly affected by the building and we will be the ones that will have to live with the aftermath. I am supporting Mayor Brown in his efforts to take a step back and try to see the whole picture. Businesses are important, but people are more important. The growth of Peachtree City has to have some kind of plan or it will be just another suburb of Atlanta. Is this what we want? It is true that Steve Brown and Bob Lenox didn't see eye to eye. They have different philosophies about Peachtree City. The citizens of Peachtree City elected Mayor Brown by a significant margin. Let him do his job. Let's call these committees that are studying the growth of PTC his "transition team." Now, our job is to offer suggestions and not to throw insults and accusations. What good does that do? If my children behaved like some of the people at the moratorium meeting, the kids would be in "time out." Hey, that's not a bad idea. A moratorium on the whining: Go to your room!
