Patriots and Tigers get wins while Panthers and Chiefs lose By MICHAEL

It was all or nothing for the local basketball teams on Tuesday night. Fayette County High School and Sandy Creek High School's boys and girls basketball teams won their games, while McIntosh and Starr's Mill's teams lost. McIntosh faced North Clayton and had a tough time. The Lady Chiefs lost 46-36 and the boys lost 56-44. The boys had a 30-27 lead at the half but found themselves trailing 44-38 heading into the fourth quarter. Scott Prah was the leading scorer for the Chiefs with 13 points. McIntosh will host Evans tonight, which will also be senior night. Starr's Mill hosted Newnan and saw both teams fall due to large runs by the Newnan squads. The Lady Panthers were outscored 17-3 in the third quarter and lost 57-33. The boys team found themselves down 13-2 early and trailing 21-10 after the first quarter. Ashley Marine was the leading scorer for the girls with 10 points while Gary Kubik led the boys with eight points. Starr's Mill will host Jonesboro tonight. Fayette County played Henry County on Tuesday and saw both teams build huge leads by the half. The Lady Tigers had a 31-8 lead at halftime and won 65-27. Anne Hancock finished with 21 points. The boys team built a 37-17 lead at the half and shot very well from beyond the arc. The team had 10 three pointers against Henry County on their way to an 82-53 win. Alfred Boykin finished with 16 points for the Tigers. Fayette County will play at Lovejoy tonight. Sandy Creek's two teams continued their winning ways. The Lady Patriots nabbed their sixth win in their last eight games by defeating Heritage 53-48. Sandy Creek went on a 14-2 run in the fourth quarter to secure the victory. Jennifer Jaracz finished with 21 points and Tiffany Paschal had 11 points and 10 rebounds. The boys led 39-21 at the half and coasted to a 72-46 victory. William Belton scored 14 points and Bill Crumpler added 11 points. Sandy Creek will host union Grove tonight for senior night. Tipoff for tonight's games begin at 7 p.m. with the varsity girls game, followed by the varsity boys game.
