Covenant offers two a.m. services beginning Feb. 3

Beginning Sunday, Feb. 3, Covenant Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville will offer two morning worship services, one at 8:30 a.m. and another at 11 a.m. The 8:30 service will follow a more informal, contemporary theme.

"The 8:30 a.m. service will provide a lively and uplifting time of praise and worship by incorporating contemporary music, songs, and instrumentation led by the Praise Team and others," a spokesperson said. "Songs include those with biblical content written in recent years as well as great hymns set to contemporary tunes or accompaniment. By its nature this service is more informal. This week (and once a month thereafter) the Fishstiks, our teen music and drama team, will participate. At this time there is no Children's Church at this service but the nursery will serve our children age three and under."

The 11 a.m. service will be a traditional service.

"This service provides a reverent and uplifting time of worship, incorporating traditional liturgy and music of all periods led by the Sanctuary Choir and accompanied by our magnificent pipe organ and piano," the spokesperson continued. "Each week several hymns are chosen from the hymnbook and the music will include an occasional chorus. A nursery is offered for those under age two and Children's Church will continue to be offered for those age two through kindergarten."

The same sermon will be delivered at each service.

Covenant Presbyterian is at 819 Ga. Hwy. 314 in Fayetteville. For more information, call 770-460-9450.
