Police bear down on teens, who have no place to go

I find the police department in Peachtree City continues to bear down on young people. I have written many times about abuse of teens and young twenties in this county and the apparent focus to drive all of these people out.

Fourteen arrests of people under 24 in the last week plus the juvenile 14 who stole the car from parents. The city refused to subsidize a community center, teen center. The citizens voted against buying Braelinn church and I closed the one place kids could go in Fayette County in December 2000 due to building being sold and lack of funds.

The community continues to harp on parks and speedy golf carts and any revenue source the police can drag in while zero is being done to prevent crime. I continue to try to get grants to reopen Jitterbuggers so that the young people who remain in Fayette County will have a place to go unharrassed .
