Hooray, moratorium: no buildings, no traffic Do it up right, Mr. Mayor. In the last year or two there was a concerted effort by a certain person, namely Steve Brown, to stop all construction here in Peachtree City. He railed against our ex-mayor every time The Citizen hit the street. It's now "pay back" time. I see, Mr. Mayor, that you have declared a 90-day moratorium on all building. No variances, no outhouses, not even a carport. This is what you wanted before you were elected. So let's get on with it. Just think what a relief it will be for our city. All the builders will be leaving shortly, plus the carpenters, brick layers, carpet layers, plumbers, and half the Mexican people who earn their living in construction. You will not have any use for the planning committee, building inspector, code enforcers, and numerous other people that you would rather not have here in your town. And think what it will do to relieve the traffic bottleneck at the intersections of Ga. highways 74 and 54. Boy, what a joy it will be to whiz through that traffic snarl. And since you harassed the Department of Transportation for the last two years, we won't have to worry about that agency cluttering up our highways with work crews. I doubt they will spend any money on this town. Looks like clear sailing, doesn't it, Mr. Mayor? Just wanted to say that I'll be looking forward to these changes. Hope all these things go well.
