Southtowne purchases Mike Patton

Steve Mader and the partners who own Southtowne car dealership in Newnan purchased the Mike Patton dealership in Newnan Jan. 11.

Southtowne will add Chevrolet, Chrysler, Plymouth, Jeep and Oldsmobile to the makes it already sells in Newnan, which include Pontiac, GMC, Cadillac and Hyundai. The staff of 55 employees at Mike Patton were added to Southtowne's 93 for a total of 148. The addition brings to nine the total number of Southtowne franchises in the metro Atlanta area.

Patton will retain the franchise for Hondas, Jeeps, Mazdas and Nissans at dealerships in LaGrange, Ga., and Opelika, Ala.

Mader welcomes friends in Fayette County who have enjoyed service from Southtowne to visit the new store at the former location of Mike Patton on the south side of Ga. Highway 34 east near exit 47 of Interstate 85.
