Atlanta builders are recognized for building innovative homes for aged
Two well-known Atlanta area builders, Bob Adams Homes and Wendt Builders Inc., were recently honored at the Metropolitan Partnership In Aging Business and Aging Breakfast for developing innovative homes geared toward older adults. Bob Adams Homes has developed numerous communities in Fayette and surrounding areas. Both builders have worked with the aging community to develop housing for changing life-styles, incorporating features of Easy Living Homes. The homes include features such as a level entrance, wide passage through hallways and doors as well as first floor bedrooms. Easy Living Homes is a concept developed by partners in the disabilities and aging communities, along with the public sector including the Atlanta Regional Commission, Statewide Independent Living Centers, Concrete Change, AARP, Georgia Department of Community Affairs, Easter Seals, Shepard Center and the HomeBuilders Association of Georgia. |
