River's Edge Church to host relationship seminar Saturday "The survey says: the top need of most men in a marriage is physical intimacy and the same survey reveals that physical intimacy does not even rank in most women's top five needs," says Dr. John Hatcher, local pastor, and host of an upcoming relationship seminar. The seminar will be held at River's Edge Community Church, Saturday, Jan. 12, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. The seminar will focus on the top five needs of most husbands and wives and how each mate can meet the critical needs of the other. "Most people get married because they genuinely love another person. But that love must be nurtured by the other in order to meet innate needs of the sexes," Hatcher said. " Since the sexes are different in needs, marriages could be strengthened if mates were more aware of the needs of their mates." Hatcher conducted a similar marriage seminar in Uganda in East Africa and says he found that the needs of husbands and wives in Africa corresponds to their counterparts in the United States. "Whether in Africa or America, women want security and men need respect," Hatcher added. Hatcher said that family life has pretty much gone south in the last couple of decades. "Our church had decided to reverse that trend in our little corner of the globe," he said. The seminar is totally free, even providing child care for children through the fifth grade. Lunch will be provided at no cost. "More than anything else we don't want any excuse to keep any couple from attending and getting help for their marriage," Hatcher said. The church requests reservations for child care. Call the church office at 770-719-0303 and leave a clear message. River's Edge is at 1092 S. Jeff Davis Drive in Fayetteville. |
