PTC's Partners II leaves enduring mark on young employees As residents of Peachtree City since 1973 and parents of two daughters who were raised in this very special community, we want to say thanks to the Royals, owners of Partners II Pizza. Both of our girls, first Darla and then Rhonda, worked at Partners. Their ages were four years apart. So, for approximately eight to nine years during their teens in the late '70s and early '80s, we observed from a distance the experiences with their "first job." We watched as they learned about respect, service, quality, punctuality, honesty and, yes, having fun. These were the same character traits we taught at home, but having them applied from a position of gainful employment seemed to provide more depth. Let's face it, mom and dad were never around to hear their excuses at work. They would be on their own, with only Jim, Marilyn and a cadre of management personnel to sort out any disciplines or differences. Each such event [became] a learning experience and character builder. On Dec. 27, the Royals hosted a 25-year reunion for the hundreds of employees who worked at Partners over the years. Daughter number two reports it was a smashing success with great new memories made and great old memories remembered. Onetime Partners employees traveled from out of state and from miles way just to attend. What a tribute to a tradition and a relationship the Royals nourished and built with these once-teenagers, now adults, as they "passed their way." Thanks, Jim and Marilyn, for the opportunities you afforded all of these people. Thank you for providing a pragmatic, no-nonsense management style while still creating an atmosphere where the kids enjoyed working and still do! Finally, thanks for the contribution your entrepreneurship has meant to Peachtree City. Tom and Jo Ann Shell Peachtree City
