Not all Muslims terrorists
I just read the article, "Sad day for Fayetteville," by Chuck E. Bryant in the Dec. 26 issue of The Citizen. I must agree that it is a sad day when a self-proclaimed Christian shows this level of ignorance and intolerance. A large number of people who immigrated to this country did so to escape a government that required them to worship only in a way approved by the government. One of the founding principles of this country is that the government does not establish, mandate or regulate any religion. If the government only permitted Christian religions, then we would be dangerously close to what our founders fled. If I understand the teachings of Jesus, we are to persuade others to believe in the truth as taught by Christ. I do not see how banning a mosque from our town improves our chances. Conversion does not come from domination. Not all Christians handle poisonous snakes in their church. Not all Muslims are terrorists. Chris Burdette Burdette4@mindspring.com
